Dinner is served

As the beef has dwindled completely from our freezer, Brandon and I decided to branch out our dinner menu one Sunday evening from the typical steak to scrumptious, tender scallops.

We seared the scallops on the grill and I made Pioneer Women's Spinach Salad and the evening was divine.

Matney even ate dinner which is amazing!

Bonfires in March

The weather was wonderful for the past few weeks so we took advangate of 75 degree days in the middle of March.  Abby and Brian were out of town and all the boys wanted to do is have a bonfire - Uncle MeMe and I didn't want to disappoint.

Friday night everyone came over to our house for the bonfire and weeny roast.  The kids had a ball!

The kids threw sticks for Max (the dog) into the pond until Max was worn out, they chased each other, checked out the neighbors chickens,  played hide and seek, and ate a lot of junk.  Brayden, Grayson, Matney, and Kennon are becoming the best of buddies and play so well with each other (for the most part).

The night was so enjoyable and relaxed.  I am pretty sure the boys are already planning the next bonfire :)

Papa G found a limb that was hanging low to the ground and gave all the babies a horsy ride!
The view at dinner!  It doesn't get much better than this.

It's in the air

Spring time is in the air!!!

We love spring around here (or at least I do) for so many reasons and with the beautiful weather we have been having we love it even more this week!!!  Here are just a few reasons why:

S: sunshine - longer days mean more time to play, garden, or relax with those we love most.
P: parties - Spring means it's birthday party time for the Crawfords, Carpenters, and Biggers' families!!  Our sweet Matney and Kennon will be 2 and Papa G, Abby, Brian, Granny, Dusty, and Pampa will all be a little older than that :)
R: rain - though we l.o.v.e the sunshine, we like the rain to make the garden grow!
I: ice - a bag full of ice makes its way home at the end of the week for the cooler so an icy cold drink can be enjoyed.
N: nature - the flowers and trees have beautiful blooms with changes every day.
G:
grass - it turns from the dull lifeless growth all over the yard to a beautiful lush playground for the kids!

"Hello, mooos!  Want to play?"

"Here I come!!"

My cutie!!

This little angel has brought so much happiness into our lives and is such a blessing.  Each day she seems to have learned something new and there are not many dull moments in our household.

Recently she found the eyeliner Mommy's makeup drawer and had a great time with it before I noticed!  If she wasn't so cute, I don't know what we would do!  Though she seems to have a double dose of ornery, she makes up for it with all her sweetness and cuteness.

It is so hard to believe that she is 23 months old and in 3 weeks we will be having a birthday party!!!

A date and an addiction!

Date Night: Brad Paisley on 2/25/12

On February 25th Brandon and I enjoyed a rare date night out to dinner and a concert thanks to his parents.  They had given us the tickets for Christmas and we were anxiously awaiting a night out just the two of us!  Rick and Kem kept our little lady for us so we could stay out as late as we wanted.  We were both wayyy past ready for bed when we got home at midnight.  We had a very nice dinner out at Jimm's and then the concert.  Being the old folks that we are we didn't want to have to park a million miles away so we parked at 5:45 right outside the arena and enjoyed happy hour in our car before walking in.  The concert was wonderful and probably one of the best I have ever been to.

Our sweet little lady, Miss Matney, has two addictions at the age of 22/23 months.  Every night all she wants is a little "Oobby Doo" and some pretzels!  She has taken to laying in "Daddie's" chair and will go to her room to drag out her hillow (pillow) and beebee's (blankies).

Watching "Oobby Doo" (Scooby Doo)

"Momma, you're embarrassing me!"  She has to have all her babies with her on her pallets :)

She's got the moves like...

Jagger? (I don't really even understand that song except I don't think it is very kid appropriate).

Miss M has got some silly moves up her sleeves that we get to see from time to time.  She doesn't even need music to break out a crazy jig!  She is just a silly little almost 2 year old that brings us more joy than we could have ever imagined.

We call this one the "fly",

or the "itty bitty",

or the "push"

or "that's all folks!"
